Orange County healthcare startup Kbrax has announced the launch of MindPure, a free mental health app providing users with tools to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Created by Kbrax founder Koorosh Yasami, MindPure acts as a form of digital therapy with features like mood tracking, breathing exercises, goal setting and mindfulness meditation. The app aims to make mental healthcare more accessible by providing these resources at no cost to users.

“In fact, more than 112 million Americans live in areas where mental health providers are scarce,” said Yasami. “Telehealth is currently the only solution that reaches patients where and when they need help the most.”

By delivering care directly through smartphones, MindPure can serve users who can’t access or afford traditional treatment.

The app also benefits providers like health systems and insurers by integrating mental healthcare with overall wellness. Features such as appointment reminders and provider locators allow for coordination between mental and physical health services.

For Yasami, MindPure represents the culmination of his life’s work improving healthcare accessibility. “Our mission remains the same,” he said, “to complete what we started and bring the physical and mental health under a single roof for users.”

Kbrax plans to continue developing features such as peer-to-peer support groups and care management tools to further bridge the gap between mental and physical healthcare.

The company believes the app can provide cost savings for providers by identifying untreated behavioral health conditions early. According to Kbrax research, addressing these needs sooner significantly reduces medical costs down the line.

But for Yasami, the biggest reward is helping people overcome struggles like those he faced growing up in war-torn Iran.

“The ultimate goal is to create a safe community that one day can save a life or two,” he said.
